Primary Responsibilities
- Work alongside design engineers, structural analysts, manufacturing, procurement, program management, and customers to oversee full lifecycle of critical hardware—from design and analysis to fabrication, assembly, and delivery.
- Independently manage tasks for structural and mechanical systems in material processing, characterization, aviation, missile, and ground support projects.
- Control project schedules and budgets with proven ability to meet accelerated timelines.
- Act as the key communication conduit between customer points of contact, engineering staff, manufacturing teams, finance, contracts, and Leidos line management.
- Mentor junior mechanical designers and structural analysts.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university + 4-8 years in engineering/project management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and configuration management.
- Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration and customer briefings.
- US Citizen, Huntsville-area resident or willing to relocate; eligible for DOE Q clearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint; superior organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- DOE clearance and 5+ years related experience.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Expertise in hardware development, manufacturing, procurement, and integration.
- Proficiency in Solidworks/Creo; experience with PLM (Windchill) and MES (Solumina).
- Background in classified design/manufacturing environments.
Pay Range: $87,100 - $157,450. Come break things (in a good way) and build them smarter at Leidos.
