Join Leidos as a Quality Engineer in Lynnwood, WA

Leidos is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our Maritime Systems Division (MSD) at our ISO 9001 certified facility in Lynnwood, WA. As part of the Defense Systems Sector's Sea Systems business unit, you'll contribute to advanced technology solutions for critical maritime missions serving the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, governmental agencies, and commercial clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute program quality planning and analyze QA requirements to develop test procedures and inspection checklists.
  • Participate in design and program reviews, ensuring quality is embedded in products and processes.
  • Review and approve drawings, process plans, and program documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform inspections on components, subassemblies, and final products; witness testing and document results.
  • Manage nonconforming materials through reviews, dispositions, and corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze quality metrics, trends, and audit findings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support supplier management, RMA processes, and proposal activities with precise quality estimations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years or Master’s with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship required with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
  • Proven skills in audits, root cause analysis, test witnessing, and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Strong multitasking, communication, analytical abilities, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Formal auditor training and experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 audits.
  • Hardware manufacturing background and familiarity with Windchill PLM, ERP, Solumina MES.

  • Ability to interpret specifications and drawings (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform program quality planning and develop test procedures/inspection checklists
  • Participate in design reviews to incorporate quality attributes
  • Review/approve drawings and process plans
  • Conduct quality inspections and witness testing
  • Document nonconformances, lead material reviews, and track corrective actions
  • Analyze quality metrics and non-conformance trends
  • Support internal audits and supplier corrective actions
  • Maintain approved supplier list and ratings
  • Support proposals with quality requirements estimation
