Leidos Quantum Incubator seeks a Quantum Networking Theorist to advance our quantum technologies portfolio. Dive into the full R&D lifecycle of optical systems for quantum-enabled remote sensing and communications. Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and analyze cutting-edge quantum devices for communication, sensing, and precision positioning, navigation, timing (PNT).
  • Develop innovative quantum communication and distributed quantum device protocols.
  • Build high-fidelity simulation software for quantum communications, photonics, or sensing experiments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists across Leidos to leverage quantum tech for mission success.

Basic Qualifications

  • T3: Bachelor’s in physics/engineering + 4+ years experience; T4: +8 years.
  • Research in CV/DV quantum optics, entanglement theory, quantum protocols, error correction, or sensing.
  • Familiarity with Qiskit, Pennylane, SeQUeNCE, QuTIP.
  • Python, Matlab, Mathematica proficiency.
  • Strong technical writing for proposals.
  • US Citizenship; security clearance eligible.
  • Motivated to publish and present research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in physics, math, or engineering.
  • Expertise in quantum networks, GKP/cat codes, QKD/QSDC.
  • Experience winning research funding; DoD TS clearance.
  • Hybrid quantum-classical processing skills.
