Join Leidos as a Radar Modeling Engineer in Huntsville, AL

Leidos is seeking a talented Radar Modeling Engineer to join our diverse team developing cutting-edge radar system models and software for complex RF and Electronic Warfare (EW) projects. Support Defense Intelligence and EW Communities by creating unique solutions for foreign weapon systems challenges. With offices nationwide, Leidos delivers responsive, cost-effective intelligence, engineering, scientific, and IT solutions across defense, space, cyber, and commercial sectors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop analytic to high-fidelity models of RF systems supporting EW analysis.
  • Integrate models into real-time and non-real-time simulation architectures.
  • Assess operator-in-the-loop impacts on radar and missile weapons system simulations.
  • Create threat models aligned with intelligence assessments, covering waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, signal processing, and closed-loop missile behavior.
  • Develop simulations and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for Windows and Linux.
  • Perform testing, verification, and documentation of all development and analysis efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET-accredited institution (0+ years experience).
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or object-oriented programming.
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation systems.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation tools.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Active SECRET clearance (or higher) and US Citizenship required.
  • Residency in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals and electronic warfare.
  • Experience in agile scrum, RF, weapons system analysis, graphics/displays, real-time OS.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, CMake, Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket), Git, Bash/PowerShell, WPF.
