Job Description

Make an Impact with Leidos Defense Systems

Leidos Defense Systems Sensor Innovation Portfolio seeks a Radar Signal Processing Engineer to solve complex sensor and radar challenges. Join a diverse team delivering innovative solutions across the DoD ecosystem, with opportunities for technical growth, senior roles, and project leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research and develop advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for radar applications.
  • Perform high-fidelity radar and RF modeling, simulation, analysis, including tool development and maintenance.
  • Integrate and field test RF sensors and systems, supporting CONUS/OCONUS deployments.
  • Handle diverse tasks in signal processing, tracker processing, performance metrics, sensor simulation, and utility tools.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills managing multiple tasks within shared codebases.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) + 8-12 years experience, or MS + 6-10 years.
  • Strong fundamentals in signals/systems, DSP, tracking algorithms, or electromagnetics.
  • Experience applying skills to radar modeling, antenna theory, DSP, tracking, algorithm development, and field testing.
  • Proven ability to evaluate/implement IEEE scientific literature.
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Python, or similar for linear systems, DSP, tracking, electromagnetics.
  • US Citizen, SECRET clearance eligible, Huntsville-area resident or relocator (NOT remote).

Preferred Qualifications

  • GPS signal demodulation/interpretation experience.
  • C++ (including CUDA) for high-performance computing.
  • Radar HWIL development/operations.
  • ADCs, DACs, clock distribution, embedded systems.
  • Proven independent work in fast-paced environments.
