Join Leidos as a Research Assistant in Audiology at the Naval Submarine Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT. Support critical research on medical, psychological, and performance effects impacting Naval personnel health in operational environments. This role focuses on NSMRL’s hearing conservation program, where you'll contribute to innovative studies on hearing protection and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators on experimental planning, protocol development, equipment setup, and data analysis.
  • Execute audiology research using specialized apparatuses to test hearing devices.
  • Manage subject recruitment, coordination, and ensure protocol compliance.
  • Monitor field advancements, foster collaborations, and deliver reports/presentations.
  • Handle budgeting, travel, and acquisition tasks while adhering to review board standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in hearing science/acoustics or related field with research experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to apply research to Navy missions.
  • US citizenship; eligible for SECRET clearance; valid driver’s license.
  • Full-time onsite M-F 0800-1630 with ~10% travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HIPAA/PHI compliance knowledge; MS Office/stats software proficiency.
  • Human subject research experience; ASHA certification; federal systems familiarity.
