Join Leidos as a Satellite Ground Systems Engineer

Leidos is seeking an experienced Satellite Systems Engineer to deliver subject matter expertise in Space Vehicle and Ground Station infrastructure integration for a key government customer. Located in Washington, DC, this role demands deep knowledge of space system acquisition, production, integration, and test phases. If you thrive in dynamic environments and excel at solving high-stakes challenges, this position offers the chance to shape critical defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct and review engineering documents while providing SME support for source selections.
  • Oversee contractor production, integration, and test activities, delivering detailed progress reports.
  • Advise the customer’s System Program Director on strategic foundations for present and future initiatives.
  • Tackle highly complex, multi-dimensional problems impacting project outcomes.
  • Lead innovative product and solution development through collaboration with field experts.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering or related field with 12+ years relevant experience; or Master’s with 10+ years.
  • Demonstrated experience with DoD Special Access Programs or IC equivalents.
  • Proven support in government acquisition program offices (military, SETA, or civil servant).
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility; SAP access eligibility; willingness for Counterintelligence polygraph.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Work effectively in dynamic settings with DoD, military, civilian, and industry partners.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Exceptional communication skills for executive-level interactions.
