SCCM/MECM Systems Administrator
Join Leidos in supporting a large-scale DOD enterprise IT contract as an SCCM/MECM Systems Administrator in Alexandria, VA. Provide critical Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager across multiple enclaves, classifications, and time zones. Work in a collaborative team to deliver mission-essential functionality using MECM (formerly SCCM).
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with customers as Tier 2 support, troubleshooting complex issues like Windows OS imaging, software/patch deployments, and system access problems.
- Manage MECM infrastructure including Distribution Points, PXE boot images, task sequences, and virtual app packages.
- Create custom reports on software licensing, patch status, and deployments for leadership.
- Develop SOPs, Knowledge Articles, and train ITOC/junior staff in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Lead projects for DP expansions, upgrades, and capacity management with root cause analysis and AARs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Tier 2/3 experience with MECM servers and customer issue resolution.
- Expertise in Microsoft tools, ITIL processes, and tools like ServiceNow/Remedy.
- Excellent communication for documenting issues, resolutions, and stakeholder coordination.
- Detail-oriented mindset for preventing recurring problems in high-stakes DOD settings.

- Oversee MECM Distribution Points, core servers, PXE boot, and task sequences
- Manage virtual app packages and generate reports on licensing, patches, and deployments
- Coordinate with stakeholders for incident resolution, root cause analysis, and process improvements
- Develop/maintain SOPs, Knowledge Articles, and provide training to junior staff and ITOC personnel
- Support major projects like DP deployments, upgrades, and assist deskside/tech refresh teams
- Provide after-action reports, AARs, and ensure 24/7 mission availability
