SCI Cloud Engineer Opportunity at Leidos
Join Leidos Digital Modernization Sector supporting US Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC) Kobayashi Maru program in Colorado Springs, CO. This on-site, hands-on role develops mission-critical software for space defense, domain awareness, and data services. Deliver secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure as a self-sufficient, execution-focused engineer collaborating across teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain Azure infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, identity, governance) using IaC.
- Architect VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, private endpoints, load balancers.
- Optimize hybrid cloud connectivity ensuring performance, redundancy, security.
- Manage Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Front Door for secure delivery.
- Automate with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates integrated with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Enforce zero trust, network segmentation with app/security teams.
- Troubleshoot DNS, routing, latency, firewall rules in hybrid setups.
- Support monitoring/alerting via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Network Watcher.
- Maintain DoD/NIST, FedRAMP compliance.
Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Deploy/manage virtual servers across on-prem/cloud (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
- Implement IaC with Terraform, Ansible for automation.
Cloud Environment & DevSecOps Support
- Provision/scale resources in Azure/AWS/GCP; monitor cost/utilization.
- Integrate DevSecOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Perform root cause analysis, performance optimization.
Basic Qualifications
BS/MS in STEM/IT with 8+/6+ years experience; Active DoD TS/SCI; 10+ years Azure engineering; deep Azure networking, IaC, CI/CD, security expertise.
