Join Leidos Dynetics as a Senior Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team in Charlottesville, VA. Play a pivotal role in developing and testing advanced models of aerospace systems, including air-launched weapons, ballistic missile systems, avionics, hypersonic vehicles, and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems across diverse projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and test aerospace system models using provided data, research, and engineering principles.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams in creating representative flight models.
  • Document model performance against requirements and detail algorithm designs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Engage with stakeholders to define requirements and showcase model demonstrations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 8+ years experience, or M.S. with 6+ years.
  • Proven experience with 3DOF/6DOF flight models, ballistic/air-launched missiles, or hypersonic vehicles.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C++, or Python.
  • Team leadership experience meeting customer requirements.
  • Strong systems engineering knowledge and aerospace system intuition.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills; US Citizen with Secret Clearance (eligible for Top Secret).
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to Charlottesville, VA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SVN/Git, GNC algorithm integration/testing, ITASE, AFSIM, or leading M&S teams.
