Senior Data Scientist
Leidos seeks a Senior Data Scientist to deliver technical leadership and advanced analytics for mission-critical national security programs in classified environments. Collaborate with experts, engineers, and stakeholders to create innovative AI and data science solutions that drive operational impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as senior technical lead on high-impact national security programs
- Partner with customers to define problems and analytic objectives
- Translate operational challenges into actionable data science designs
- Develop and deploy ML models, statistical analysis, and predictive solutions
- Integrate diverse data sources in secure classified settings
- Present insights to senior decision-makers effectively
- Support solution deployment, monitoring, and O&M
- Mentor juniors and advance analytic best practices
- Track emerging AI technologies for defense applications
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s in quantitative field +15 years or Bachelor’s +18 years experience
- Deep expertise in data science for complex missions
- Expert Python/R with ML libraries
- Experience with large, multi-source datasets
- Leadership in large-scale analytic programs
- Strong briefing and communication skills
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required
Preferred Qualifications
- IC/DoD national security experience
- Classified environment operations
- Advanced ML domains (NLP, CV, graph analytics)
- Cloud/enterprise analytics platforms
- Mentoring or technical leadership experience
- Instructional design or curriculum development
