Key Responsibilities

  • Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers across OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using systems like DDS, GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, and Maximo.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while utilizing tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, and DDS.
  • Review designs with clients, conduct scope analysis, planning, and follow-up to prioritize client needs.
  • Drive workflow improvements for efficiency and quality in dense urban cable/conduit projects, including permits, easements, and ROW applications.
  • Collect field data through customer-site visits, thriving in both office and field environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience; BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent).
  • Direct experience with electric utilities or consulting in distribution design.
  • Proficiency in NESC, structural analysis, guying/cable pulling calcs, protective coordination, and power calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Proficiencies

  • Cost estimation, BOM development, CIAC calculations.
  • MicroStation, CAD tools, work management, and job estimating software.

  • Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and WMS systems
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work
  • Review engineering design packages with clients
  • Perform scope analysis, planning, and customer follow-up
  • Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes
  • Coordinate conflicting utilities and field engineering requirements
  • Conduct field data collection and customer-site visits
