Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems at our HQS site in Chantilly, VA. This pivotal role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical electrical infrastructure while driving strategic improvements and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead research, design, detailing, and installation support for facility electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Plant teams on emergency preparedness.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Assess infrastructure and recommend capital improvements.
  • Oversee electrical aspects of construction and renovation projects from concept to completion.
  • Develop maintenance policies, standards, and procedures per industry best practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and vendors for seamless delivery.
  • Refine design standards and site-specific operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate electrical design documentation, submittals, and one-line diagrams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8–12 years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
  • Expertise in complex electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and controls.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, NEC codes, and sustainable design.
  • Experience with medium voltage, generators, UPS, data centers, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging leadership and customers.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph (active clearance preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • PE certification and SME status.
  • Field experience in construction, integration, testing, and reactive maintenance.
  • Project management skills in budgeting, scheduling, and resources.
