Job Description

Join Leidos Digital Modernization Team

Make a significant impact by modernizing critical networks for government customers with Leidos. We're seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Agile Network Operations Cell supporting Air Combat Command’s (ACC) base readiness initiative. Based in Hampton, VA, you'll serve as the primary Base Area Network (BAN) technical expert for regional ACC bases, providing expertise in LAN architecture design, sustainment, and modernizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive network engineering support: planning, designing, and evaluating network components.
  • Specify network architecture, identify capability gaps, evaluate technologies, and conduct needs assessments.
  • Develop and implement network configurations following local change management.
  • Handle monitoring, installation, cabling, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and maintenance.
  • Draft technical documentation, communicate requirements, participate in testing, train operations teams, and support infrastructure changes.
  • Foster collaboration with government customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS + 12-15 years or Masters + 10-13 years experience (substitutions accepted).
  • Extensive TCP/IP expertise including hardware, software, NAC, QoS, and infrastructure.
  • Network admin/security experience with standards, protocols, NIST/FISMA.
  • IPv4/IPv6, CCC/DNAC, ISE, Zero Trust/C2C implementation.
  • Required certification: SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GFACT.
  • Active Secret clearance; US Citizen.

Travel & Location

Primary base: Hampton, VA (ACC Headquarters). Support may extend to Goldsboro, NC; Sumter, SC; Valdosta, GA. Travel: 50%. Strong communication skills essential for integrated teams.

  • One of: SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, GFACT (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide network engineering support including planning, designing, and evaluating network components
  • Develop specifications for network architecture, identify gaps, and recommend new technologies
  • Implement approved network configurations per change management processes
  • Perform monitoring, installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of network equipment
  • Draft technical documentation, participate in testing, develop training, and support project lifecycles
