Leidos seeks a Senior Paralegal for its fast-paced Litigation Support Team aiding the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in downtown Los Angeles, CA. Leverage your expertise to help DOJ achieve its mission through innovative, defensible technology solutions. Enjoy high autonomy, organization-wide exposure, and a customer-driven environment. Overtime and travel may apply with authorization; flexibility to support various DOJ divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specialized legal research/writing on complex criminal/civil cases, analyzing statutes, precedents, and regulations.
- Use automated resources for case-specific research and eDiscovery participation.
- Develop referrals ensuring USAO standards; evaluate evidence, plan info gathering, advise on merits/weaknesses.
- Litigation support: analyze pleadings, draft docs/orders, manage pretrial discovery/witnesses, brief attorneys, organize exhibits.
Duties may combine; perform full Senior Paralegal scope per contract. Pay: $30.10/hour.
Basic Qualifications
- Paralegal cert, JD, or 1+ year ABA law school.
- 2+ years litigation paralegal/project experience.
- 1+ year automated litigation support.
- Knowledge of court systems, legal research, LEXIS/Westlaw.
- Proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, ESI/eDiscovery tools.
- US Citizen, Public Trust clearance eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Government/litigation support experience.
- Trial experience.
- Relativity or similar tools.
- Active clearance.
