Role in Digital Modernization Sector

Support the DHS Chief Information Security Officer Directorate (CISOD) in ensuring compliance with FISMA, OMB circulars, Executive Orders, and federal policies while maintaining a secure computing environment. Information security is core to DHS operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetration testing aligned with DHS and industry best practices.
  • Perform web application, network, and infrastructure assessments using tools like Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Cobalt Strike.
  • Execute operations safely per guidelines.
  • Deliver detailed reports with actionable remediation.
  • Partner with SOC, engineering, and defensive teams for vulnerability validation.
  • Contribute to tool development, methodology enhancements, and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

  • BS with 12-15 years or Master’s with 12 years experience.
  • 3+ years in incident detection/response, malware analysis, or cyber forensics.
  • Proficiency in 3+ tools: Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Tenable Nessus, WebInspect, Scuba, AppDetective.
  • Certification: GPEN, GWAPT, GISF, GXPN, OSCP, OSCE, OSWP, OSEE, CISSP, CEH.
  • U.S. Citizenship; Top Secret/SCI eligibility and DHS EOD.

  • Execute safe testing operations per guidelines
  • Produce detailed reports with findings and remediation recommendations
  • Collaborate with SOC, engineering, and defensive teams on vulnerability validation/remediation
  • Support tool development, methodology improvements, and knowledge sharing
