Join Leidos as a Senior Policy Analyst Supporting DOE/NNSA Defense Programs

Leidos seeks a Senior Policy Analyst to deliver critical analysis, coordination, and program support to the DOE/NNSA Office of Defense Programs in Washington, DC. This role demands an active DOD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance (with SCI eligibility) and focuses on Nuclear Weapons Council activities and interagency processes in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct program analysis for nuclear weapons programs under DOE/NNSA Defense Programs.
  • Facilitate NWC processes: prepare briefings, issue papers, track actions, and manage logistics.
  • Oversee policy/program portfolio alignment across schedules, priorities, and risks.
  • Draft high-impact products: briefings, talking points, Congressional responses, interagency materials.
  • Translate complex technical data into clear deliverables for senior leaders.
  • Coordinate with NNSA, DoD, State Department, NSC, and interagency partners.
  • Monitor strategic environment and national security guidance for emerging issues.
  • Prepare materials for Congressional and stakeholder engagements.

Key Requirements

  • Clearance: Active DOE Q or DoD TS, eligible for SCI.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s +12yrs (7+ in DOE/NNSA/DoD/interagency) or Master’s +10yrs (7+ relevant).
  • Deep knowledge of nuclear weapons policy, programs, NWC structures.
  • Superior communication and multitasking in high-tempo settings.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in high-tempo environment (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide program analysis for DOE/NNSA Defense Programs nuclear weapons activities
  • Support Nuclear Weapons Council processes including briefings, issue papers, and action tracking
  • Manage policy and program portfolio ensuring alignment on schedules, priorities, and risks
  • Research, draft, and review briefing materials, talking points, Congressional correspondence, and interagency materials
  • Coordinate with NNSA, DoD, Department of State, and other interagency partners
  • Monitor national security guidance and emerging issues for senior staff
  • Support senior leader engagements with Congress and stakeholders
