Join Leidos' High Fidelity Simulation Business Area

Leidos delivers cutting-edge system-of-systems solutions powering world-class simulation, training, and analysis for the U.S. Navy. Based at a U.S. Government facility in Bethesda, MD, you'll develop advanced sonar tactical decision aids (TDAs) that directly support Fleet operations, making a tangible impact on national security.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop and enhance Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems, including sonar TDAs across multiple code baselines.
  • Troubleshoot complex software challenges and contribute innovative solutions.
  • Learn and apply new programming languages/technologies with mentorship.
  • Support hardware system configuration and full integration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Mentor 15+ developers in agile methodologies within a 50+ member program.
  • Design, develop, and deliver mission-critical software using Java, C++, Angular, Rust, Scala.
  • Resolve technical issues creatively in fast-paced environments.
  • Drive process improvements, balance priorities, and communicate effectively.
  • Occasional travel to Manassas, VA for integration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Math, Physical Science, or Computer Science.
  • 7+ years in real-time signal processing, parallel processing, SOA, Java/C++.
  • 5+ years sonar/Navy C2 experience; U.S. clearance eligibility; IAT Level I cert.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree; 11+ years signal processing; 8+ years tech leadership.
  • Big Data/Cloud: Scala, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, AWS.
  • UI: HTML5, Angular, TypeScript, Cesium.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance (experience)
  • IAT Level I or higher certification (or obtain within 30 days) (experience)
  • Master’s degree preferred (experience)
  • 11+ years signal processing/real-time systems experience preferred (experience)
  • 8+ years technology leadership and mentoring preferred (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Mentor decentralized team of 15+ developers using agile methodologies
  • Collaborate in agile environment to design, develop, and deliver mission system software
  • Own and deliver solutions in Java, C++, and modern technologies
  • Explore and apply new frameworks/languages like Angular, Rust, Scala
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Drive process improvements and innovative workflows
  • Influence positive change through technical leadership
  • Balance multiple priorities and adapt to shifting requirements
  • Communicate clearly across teams and stakeholders
  • Occasionally travel to Manassas, VA for integration and collaboration
  • Develop and enhance Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems and sonar TDAs
