Join Leidos as a Senior Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL

Leidos is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Huntsville, AL, delivering innovative solutions for missile defense systems. Support the full software lifecycle in a Linux environment using C++ or Python within an Agile Scrum framework and DevSecOps practices. Collaborate with stakeholders across defense, space, cyber, and commercial domains to solve complex problems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software for Linux environments
• Implement features in Agile Scrum using Jira and Gitlab
• Partner with systems, electrical, and test engineers
• Conduct peer reviews, unit testing, and documentation
• Debug and troubleshoot in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) settings

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (ABET-accredited) with 12+ years, or MS with 10+ years
• Expertise in C/C++ and Python
• Full software lifecycle experience
• Agile, Jira/Gitlab, Linux, Qt IDE proficiency
• HWIL testing familiarity
• US Citizen with Secret Clearance (active or eligible)

Preferred Qualifications

• Buildroot and VMWare experience
• Wireshark, UDP/TCP networking
• CI/CD pipeline support
• DoD acquisition knowledge
• Local to North Alabama or willing to relocate
