Key Responsibilities

  • Execute relay one-line, three-line AC schematic, and DC protection schematic designs.
  • Create panel layouts, wiring designs, and develop bills of materials.
  • Conduct quality control checks and support full project lifecycles, including construction.
  • Apply NESC standards and client specifications while interfacing with nationwide utilities.

Qualifications

  • Senior-Level: BS in Electrical Engineering + 4+ years substation P&C design/testing.
  • Lead-Level: BS + 8+ years experience.
  • Proven skills in substation drawings, communication, problem-solving, and deadline management.
  • Preferred: EIT/PE, CAD experience, DOE clearance eligibility.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills (experience)
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work independently (experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (experience)
  • High computer competency and willingness to travel (experience)
  • US Citizen able to pass DOE background check (preferred) (experience)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design relay one-line, three-line AC schematics, and DC protection schematics
  • Develop panel layouts, wiring designs, and bills of materials
  • Perform quality control checks on wiring designs
  • Provide full project lifecycle support from scoping to implementation and construction support
  • Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements to design processes
  • Work with client standards and collaborate with designers/drafters on drawings
  • Interface with utility clients nationwide and other disciplines (substation, telecom, civil)
  • Ensure compliance with project scope, schedule, budget, and safe work practices
