We're seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer for our Walled Lake, MI office to design protection and control systems for substations from 12kV to 500kV. Key Responsibilities

  • Design relay one-lines, three-line AC schematics, DC protection schematics, panel layouts, and wiring.
  • Develop bills of materials and perform quality control checks.
  • Support full project lifecycle, from scoping to construction, applying NESC standards and client specs.
  • Collaborate with designers, drafters, clients, and cross-disciplines like telecom and civil.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools and high computer competency (experience)
  • Willingness to travel to project sites (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform relay one-line, three-line AC schematic, and DC protection schematic design
  • Develop panel layouts, wiring designs, and bills of materials
  • Conduct quality control checks on wiring designs
  • Provide full project lifecycle support from scoping to implementation and construction support
  • Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements and client standards
  • Collaborate with designers/drafters to produce required drawings
  • Interface with clients and other disciplines including substation, telecom, and civil structural
