Join Leidos National Security Sector as Senior Systems Administrator

Leidos National Security Sector delivers technology-enabled services in cyber, logistics, security operations, and decision analytics to defend against global threats. Our Intelligence Production Solutions Division (IPSD) seeks a Senior Systems Administrator for mission-critical systems supporting intelligence and geospatial initiatives.

Key Role in Classified Environments

Based primarily in Gaithersburg, MD (options: Aurora, CO; St. Louis, MO; Tucson, AZ), you'll lead IT operations in fast-paced, classified settings. Manage high-performance Linux/Windows systems, virtualization (VMware, KVM), and hybrid cloud (AWS GovCloud, Azure). Ensure 24/7 availability for geospatial analytics, software dev, and data services. Active Top Secret clearance required (TS/SCI with Polygraph eligible).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead sysadmin for Linux (RHEL/CentOS) & Windows in secure environments
  • Architect complex infrastructure & perform STIG-compliant hardening/patching
  • Monitor performance, conduct RCA, & resolve issues
  • Oversee backups, DR, & automation (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Maintain docs, support CM/RM, & lead Chinook enhancements
  • Collaborate with cyber, network, & dev teams; participate in audits/IR

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizen; Bachelor’s +8-12yrs or Master’s +6-10yrs relevant exp
  • DoD 8570 IAT II/III cert; Linux/Windows/VMware exp
  • Cloud platforms, scripting, STIG/RMF, networking/IAM knowledge
  • IC/DoD classified support experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • GEOINT mission support; DevOps (Git, Jenkins, Docker)
  • Enterprise backups, AD, PKI, DNS/DHCP

Pay Range: $92,300-$166,850. Leidos outthinks the status quo—join disruptors on the Chinook program.

  • Architect server/storage/virtualization infrastructure
  • Perform OS hardening, patching per DoD STIGs
  • Monitor/tune performance & resolve complex issues
  • Manage automation scripts & infrastructure as code
  • Support backups, DR plans & Chinook modernizations
  • Collaborate on cybersecurity & audits
  • Mentor junior admins & maintain documentation
