Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with Data Policy expertise to drive data stewardship and governance on our Fort Independence Team. Leverage your systems engineering background to enhance certified data repository (CDR) processes, attribute-level governance, and data management across the Intelligence Community (IC). If you thrive at the intersection of data science, policy stewardship, and AI/ML innovation, this role will challenge you to optimize data quality, ensure compliance, and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex governance policies into actionable processes and technical solutions for stewards and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards, representatives, and the IC community to analyze and refine data attributes, metadata, and repository certifications.
  • Build predictive models and conduct statistical analyses to monitor compliance, data quality, and stewardship effectiveness.
  • Implement AI/ML techniques for workflow automation, including anomaly detection, classification, and policy adherence checks.
  • Design and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to track governance performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally to uphold standards for data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Drive process improvements and recommend technical innovations for efficient data governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • BS in STEM or related field + 8+ years relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for degree).
  • Expertise in IdAM/ICAM systems, authentication, authorization, and attributes architectures.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and metadata management.
  • Exceptional critical thinking to balance technical and policy needs.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging technical and policy stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with governance platforms like Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
  • Awareness of MFA policies and contributions to security policy drafting.
  • Hands-on work with automation pipelines or AI-enabled data governance tools.
  • Background in policy, governance, or compliance environments.
