Leidos Health & Services Sector seeks a Senior Technical Editor to support the Department of Defense's critical personnel testing and assessment mission in Seaside, CA. This role offers 75% remote work with occasional on-site requirements, ideal for experts in scientific editing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and refine technical documents, scientific reports, test items, and research products for clarity, precision, and consistency.
  • Apply APA style and other editorial standards uniformly across all deliverables.
  • Develop editorial guidelines to ensure team-wide uniformity.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts, analysts, and researchers to maintain content accuracy.
  • Review documents for readability, structure, compliance, and high-quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Master’s or PhD plus 10+ years in scientific report editing or test item writing/editing; expert in APA Publication Manual, capable of rewriting from general guidance and generating editing rules.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, independent team work, deadline management, experience with statistical tables/figures, Microsoft Word proficiency (track changes, templates).
  • Clearance: US Citizenship required; must obtain DoD CAC, FBI fingerprint check, and NACI.
  • Location: Near Seaside, CA or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD or DTAC experience.
  • Editing psychometrics, statistics, behavioral science documents.
  • Federal/DoD documentation standards knowledge.
