Join Leidos as a Senior Test Engineer
Leidos, a global leader in information technology, engineering, and science, is seeking a dynamic Senior Test Engineer to join our expanding team in the UK. Due to significant business growth in mission-critical sectors, this role offers the chance to work on customer sites across Avon, Gloucestershire, and Herefordshire regions, tackling complex challenges in defence and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Chief Engineer to define tailored test strategies for projects ranging from electronic prototypes to complex on-prem and cloud systems.
- Lead test planning with Project Leads, ensuring alignment with tight delivery timescales, quality, safety, and security goals.
- Embed quality assurance into development workflows, championing rigorous testing practices.
- Work directly with customers to secure formal project scope acceptance.
- Document comprehensive test specifications, maintain traceability from scope to defects, and deliver real-time progress reporting.
- Drive defect triage and resolution alongside development teams in Waterfall and Agile environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates bring proven Test Lead or Senior Test Engineer experience, strong technical leadership, and expertise in systems integration testing for cloud/server applications. Familiarity with test automation is required; RF/embedded systems experience is a bonus. Excellent communication and adaptability are key for this flexible, multi-customer role.
Desirable Qualifications
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification.
- Background in regulated environments like defence or law enforcement.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices.
