Join Leidos as a Senior Transmission Line Designer
Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Designer to join our dynamic Power Delivery team in Orlando, FL. Work on challenging electric transmission projects for major U.S. utilities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers hybrid/remote flexibility within Florida, with Orlando office preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design HV/EHV overhead and underground transmission systems under engineer direction
- Handle reconductor, greenfield, brownfield, and structure replacement projects
- Conduct engineering analyses and prepare bidding, procurement, and construction documents
- Develop PLS-CADD models, plan & profiles, and full construction packages
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including clients, planners, environmental specialists, and construction managers
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years designing electric utility transmission systems
- Proficiency in full transmission line design workflows
- Expertise in NESC, material procurement, schedules, and construction packages
- Team player with independent working capability
- Excellent communication for client and team interactions
- Availability for periodic travel to sites and meetings
