Join Leidos as a Senior Transmission Line Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our dynamic team in Walled Lake, MI. Work in a fast-paced environment solving complex challenges in electric transmission for major U.S. utilities. Design high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems, including voltage conversions, new capacity, and infrastructure replacements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards to transmission line engineering and design.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement, and construction packages.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary Leidos teams and interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 4+ years in transmission systems design.
  • Proficiency reviewing PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plan/profiles, construction packages.
  • Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE; construction specs, procurement, schedules, work packages.
  • Team player with independent work ability; strong client/project team communication.
  • Expertise in PLS-CADD, POLE, LPile/FAD Tools, Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT, FE, or PE License.
  • Experience with PLS TOWER, Bentley MicroStation/ProjectWise, Mathcad, AutoCAD.
  • Construction management and support.

Hybrid schedule preferred for local candidates; client office work or travel possible. Leidos ranks Top 10 in ENR for T&D and Power Firms.
