Our Space Business Area pioneers advanced sensor products for proliferated constellations, integrating new technologies for space-based tracking. Join our newly formed Engineering team as Sensor Engineering Manager in San Diego, CA, leading cross-functional experts in Optical, Electro-Optical, Opto-Mechanical, and Image/Data Processing to deliver high-quality, manufacturable sensor designs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic and technical leadership for space-based sensor programs.
- Drive innovation and improvements aligned with customer missions.
- Enforce 'design for manufacturing' principles throughout development.
- Guide architecture, requirements derivation, and design integration.
- Mentor diverse engineers across the full product lifecycle.
- Partner with Space BA Solution Architect and Emerging Systems teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's + 12-15 years, Master's + 10-13 years, or Doctorate in relevant field.
- 5+ years leading teams/projects.
- US Citizen eligible for DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Space-based IR sensor and image processing experience.
- DoD program execution, contracts, financials, subcontractor management.
- Proficiency in Zemax, SolidWorks, MATLAB; CodeV a plus.
- Reading mechanical/electrical drawings and manufacturing docs.
- Building strategies with design, manufacturing, and tech teams.
