Make a Difference as a Mission Ready Reserve MFLC Counselor at Leidos
Join Leidos in supporting military service members and their families as a flexible, on-call Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at Naval Station Whidbey Island (NS Kitsap), WA. This short-term or as-needed backfill role offers the chance to provide proactive, solution-focused counseling without administrative hassles like insurance filing, progress notes, or treatment plans.
Key Role Details
As a Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) MFLC, you'll serve on a PRN basis, stepping in for an existing counselor on leave. Focus purely on impactful counseling in diverse settings: 60% indoor (military installations, schools, child development centers) and 40% outdoor (uneven terrain, weather exposure). Embed with units, support families, or work in schools to address mental health needs before they escalate.
Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face counseling for individuals, couples, families, and children.
- Leverage clinical skills for referrals to appropriate resources.
- Conduct presentations on social-emotional learning.
- Engage at events to build trust within the military community.
- Tackle unique challenges like deployments and relocations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or higher in Behavioral Health Professions.
- Independent license: LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or Psychologist.
- U.S. citizen; pass NACI/CNACI clearance.
