Make an immediate impact on military service members and families as a flexible, on-call Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) in Silverdale, WA, at Naval Base Kitsap. This short-term or as-needed role lets you focus purely on counseling without administrative hassles like insurance, progress notes, or treatment plans.
Key Role Details
Serve in Oak Harbor and surrounding areas, embedding in schools, child development centers, and military units. Provide proactive, solution-focused counseling for children, families facing military transitions, deployments, and relocations. Work 60% indoors (schools, CDCs) and 40% outdoors, navigating varied terrains and weather. Full-time impact on a part-time, PRN schedule—accept assignments at your discretion.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual, couples, family, and child counseling face-to-face.
- Leverage clinical expertise for referrals to DOD/community resources.
- Present on social-emotional learning and skill development.
- Engage at events to build trust with service members and families.
- Address unique military challenges like frequent moves and separations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or higher in Behavioral Health Professions.
- Independent license: LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or Psychologist.
- U.S. citizen with clean background and CNACI clearance.
