Join Leidos as a Software Developer in Air Traffic Management

Leidos, a global leader in technology and engineering, seeks an experienced Software Developer to join our innovative team in Whiteley, near Portsmouth, UK. Our heritage companies pioneered air traffic control systems over 50 years ago, now handling 75% of U.S. and 60% of global air traffic. In the UK, we've supported NATS since the 1990s and are central to modernizing ATM solutions.

Key Role Details

This full-time, mid-level position primarily requires on-site work at our Whiteley facility, with remote flexibility once the system is understood. You'll develop critical ATM infrastructure, requiring attainment and maintenance of SC clearance. No prior ATM knowledge needed—comprehensive training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality software in C, C++, Ada 95, or Java on RTOS like Linux.
  • Handle full software lifecycle in a dynamic environment.
  • Apply best practices, configuration management (Git/Subversion), and methodologies.
  • Collaborate via excellent communication, using Atlassian tools and APIs.

Required & Desired Skills

Required: C/C++/Ada 95, RTOS (Linux), APIs, communication skills, methodologies, config management.
Desired: Java, IaC (Puppet), Docker, Jira/Confluence, AWS, Python, design tools (Enterprise Architect).
