Join Leidos as a Software Developer SME in Chantilly, VA
Leidos is seeking a seasoned Software Developer SME for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting critical Entitlement Programs, IdAM/ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Entitlements, and Digital Policy Management. Work with a large team of developers and cloud engineers on a high-stakes mission for national security sponsors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop new features for legacy applications and build innovative new apps as mission needs evolve.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Analyze complex software systems, decompose architectures, and design for scalability, testability, and high performance in low-latency, high-throughput distributed environments.
- Thrive in a Scrum agile framework with 3-week sprint cycles, actively participating in planning, Jira backlog grooming, and team collaboration.
- Write custom scripts for EC2 instance installation/configuration, create RESTful APIs, and manipulate data using XML, JSON, and YAML.
- Share O&M responsibilities with team rotation, including on-call support approximately one week every three months.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Master's degree + 15+ years experience (additional experience may substitute for degree).
- Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS for backend components in distributed systems.
- Hands-on with Git, Jenkins, Rundeck, CloudFormation, and RESTful APIs.
Desired Qualifications
- AWS certification.
- Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, Python development, Elasticsearch/Kibana.
- Tokenization, microservices, automated testing (Katalon/Selenium), multi-region AWS resilience, IAM/Zero Trust, AI/LLM concepts.
