Join Leidos’ High Fidelity Simulation Team in Bethesda, MD

Leidos’ High Fidelity Simulation Business Area designs and delivers cutting-edge system-of-systems solutions powering world-class simulation, training, and analysis for the U.S. Navy. Based at a U.S. Government facility in Bethesda, MD, this mid-level Software Engineer role focuses on developing and maintaining server-side components for a mature, web-based Learning Management System (LMS). Enhance backend modules, boost reliability, and implement new features in partnership with Navy stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build server-side frameworks using Java Servlets, JSPs, Tomcat integration, data parsing, and workflow logic.
  • Handle XML/JSON structures for LMS configuration and automation.
  • Manage ANT/Gradle builds and deployments across environments.
  • Operate in RHEL Linux (Bash) and Windows (shell scripting) setups.
  • Learn emerging languages/tech with senior mentorship.
  • Support hardware integration when needed.

Primary Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in Java SE/Servlets/JSP, signal processing, microservices, or simulations.
  • Clearance eligibility and IAT Level I certification willingness.

Preferred Skills

  • Parser development, JSP extensions, Java-web frontend integration.
