Join Leidos as a Software Engineering Manager and serve as a thought leader in designing an Internal Developer Portal that standardizes developer experiences across the enterprise. Combine deep technical expertise with architectural instincts to drive innovation at the intersection of AI, developer experience, and platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Establish architectural patterns, reference implementations, and best practices for developer platforms. Design scalable, secure systems integrating IaC, containerization, and DevSecOps.
- Roadmap & Innovation: Drive technical direction for next-gen tools including containers, CI/CD, and developer acceleration platforms. Lead reviews, evaluate technologies, and set engineering standards.
- Hands-On Engineering: Build with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps; develop pipelines; prototype and productionize concepts; integrate COTS/open source into robust offerings.
- Collaboration: Partner with product, UX, platform teams; mentor engineers; align with research, data, cybersecurity for mission-aligned solutions; contribute to thought leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's + 12+ years experience, senior/principal level.
- Distributed systems, developer tools, platform engineering expertise.
- CI/CD, Kubernetes, IaC, software security proficiency.
- 2+ modern languages; strategy influence skills; U.S. authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- GitOps (ArgoCD/Fleet), DevX tools, container hardening.
- Cybersecurity, secure-by-design, government systems experience.
- Prior thought leader/principal engineer role.
