Join Leidos as a Solution Architect specializing in Maritime Autonomy, based in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, with flexible hybrid working. Lead the design of cutting-edge autonomous and digital C4ISR systems for maritime defence platforms. This security-cleared role supports multiple defence opportunities, shaping capability roadmaps, driving innovation, and positioning Leidos as a leader in naval technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Architect military maritime solutions: combat systems, Strike Net, comms, autonomous navigation, and platform management.
  • Convert complex requirements into scalable system designs compliant with DEF STAN, STANAG, and MIL-STD.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and partners on technical roadmaps and integrations.
  • Support bids through solution shaping, governance, and proposal reviews.
  • Perform trade studies, oversee delivery, and innovate with AI, uncrewed systems, and advanced comms.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering.
  • Royal Navy/military/maritime experience.
  • Proven defence architecture expertise in naval platforms, C4ISR, and autonomy.
  • SC clearance (DV eligible), sole UK citizen.
  • Skills in MBSE, MODAF/NAF, Sparx EA/Cameo, and governance.

Clearance & Location

SC to start, DV for role. Farnborough base with WFH flexibility.

  • Extensive experience in defence/maritime solution architecture (experience)
  • SC clearance with potential for DV (sole UK citizen) (experience)
  • Experience in technical governance and design authority roles (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of maritime solutions including combat systems, Strike Net, autonomous navigation, and C4ISR
  • Translate operational requirements into end-to-end system designs
  • Engage stakeholders to define architectures, roadmaps, and validate solutions
  • Ensure compliance with military standards (DEF STAN, STANAG, MIL-STD)
  • Support bids with solution development, governance, and technical proposals
  • Conduct trade studies, design reviews, and provide engineering oversight
  • Drive innovation in uncrewed systems, AI, and advanced communications
