Key Responsibilities

• Accurately translate digital and hard-copy materials between Somali and English, preserving nuances, cultural, geopolitical, and ethnic references.
• Deliver consecutive interpretation services, with occasional simultaneous, maintaining fidelity across regional dialects.
• Transcribe audio, video, and online content into precise English reports, handling dialectical variations.
• Conduct gisting and summarization to extract and prioritize critical information from complex datasets using reference materials.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and research tools for high-quality output.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years relevant experience or Master’s with 2-6 years (experience may substitute for degree).
• Successful completion of Leidos language proficiency test at Primary level or higher.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (no clearance required to apply; sponsored post-testing).
• Pass medical/physical screens, sponsor training, and weapons training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Translation/interpretation degree or HLT experience.
• Contingency operations, U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement background.
• Briefing skills and multi-language proficiency.
