Space Hardware Test Lead - Leidos Defense Space

Join Leidos' Defense Space Business Area in San Diego, CA, and lead the testing of cutting-edge sensor payloads for space missions. Deliver innovative solutions for national defense in a collaborative Systems Engineering Integration and Test team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for space payload systems test campaigns.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive system test activities to ensure technical and operational requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues during testing phases.
  • Define and execute white box and black box test procedures, monitoring progress to maintain timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop essential test documentation, including plans, reports, and detailed result analysis.
  • Coordinate with systems engineering and development teams for seamless integration and full compliance with customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems, industrial) or related field with 12+ years relevant experience; or Master’s with 10+ years.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with active Secret security clearance.
  • 6+ years experience in hardware and software integration/test of complex systems.
  • Proven success delivering space systems under tight timelines; LEO/MEO/GEO experience highly valued.
