Sr Operations Technician
Leidos Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division seeks a Senior Operations Technician for our Springfield, VA facility. Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical transformers, MCCs, UPS, substations, pumps, generators, and BAS.
- Monitor performance using control panels, gauges, and digital interfaces; respond rapidly to alarms and emergencies.
- Conduct data analysis to identify inefficiencies or early failures; execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Lead Junior Technicians in tasks, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
- Maintain precise logs, ensure OSHA/NFPA compliance, and coordinate cross-departmentally during disruptions.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance required; night shift availability essential.
- High school diploma + 3-5 years automotive/heavy equipment maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling, electrical systems; read schematics/manuals.
- Tool proficiency for repairs like brake adjustments, valve grinding; strong diagnostics and safety adherence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership in technician teams or shop operations.
- CMMS experience, quality control, energy efficiency, DOT inspections.
- EPA 609 certification, project management in maintenance/fleets.

- Monitor system performance via control panels, gauges, BAS interfaces
- Respond to alarms, breakdowns, emergencies with swift corrective actions
- Analyze operational data for inefficiencies or degradation
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs
- Lead and guide Junior Operations Technicians
- Maintain documentation for inspections, repairs, logs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, company safety standards
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during outages and emergencies
