Join Leidos as a Structural Design Engineer

Leidos is seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team, supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA). This role offers the opportunity to deliver critical design engineering for air traffic control facilities across the ESA geographic scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and design diverse projects including buildings, roofing, antenna towers, site work, structural systems, seismic reinforcement, foundations, and environmental assessments.
  • Conduct on-site surveys, analyze existing facilities, and produce detailed reports using advanced software tools.
  • Generate sketches, construction drawings, site-specific specifications, and independent cost estimates.
  • Coordinate construction activities, review contractor submittals, and manage project milestones with stakeholders and teams.
  • Lead engineering staff, facilitate on-site meetings, inspections, and cutovers while providing timely status reports.
  • Ensure project success through risk management, safety plans, and internal design reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in commercial/institutional facility design and construction (or Master's + 4 years).
  • Proficiency in engineering software, Microsoft Office, and current building codes knowledge.
  • Ability to obtain public trust suitability and reside in the eastern US.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AutoCAD skills for project drawings.
  • Understanding of National Airspace System and ARTCC components.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Review contractor submittals and manage project communications including safety and risk plans
  • Coordinate construction activities, inspections, and stakeholder meetings
  • Lead teams to resolve design issues and ensure on-time project completion
  • Provide status reports and perform internal design reviews
