Leidos Engineering seeks a skilled Substation Project Engineer for our fast-growing EPC Solutions group within the Power Delivery Solutions division. Provide expert consulting to public and investor-owned utilities on transmission, distribution, substation, and line projects nationwide. This remote/teleworker role offers flexibility while leading high-impact engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead physical electrical design for HV/EHV substations, including general arrangements, grounding, raceway, shielding, and lighting plans.
  • Design protection and control systems with relaying one-lines, schematics, SCADA, communications, and automation.
  • Perform studies on bus spans, shielding, lighting, conduit fill, and AC/DC loading.
  • Apply standards like NEC, NESC, IEEE/ANSI; create specifications and lead QC reviews.
  • Coordinate teams, act as client POC, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time.
  • Prepare proposals, schedules, and conceptual designs; mentor junior staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering + 8+ years substation experience.
  • PE License mandatory.
  • Deep knowledge of utility grid, standards, and high-pressure project delivery.
