We're seeking a talented Substation Protection & Control Engineer to design projects for electric utilities at 12kV to 500kV. Gain exposure to renewable energy integration and power systems in a fast-paced, hybrid role (2-3 days/week in Pittsburgh, PA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design relay one-lines, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, and wiring.
  • Develop BOMs and perform QC checks.
  • Support full project lifecycle, including construction.
  • Apply NESC and client standards; collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

Mid-Level: BS in Electrical Engineering + 2+ years experience.
Senior Level: BS + 4+ years experience. Strong design skills, communication, and problem-solving required. PE/EIT preferred.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills (experience)
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure (experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (experience)
  • High computer competency and self-starter mindset (experience)
  • Willingness to travel to project/client sites (experience)
  • US Citizen able to pass DOE background check (preferred) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform relay one-line design
  • Develop three-line AC schematic and DC protection schematic designs
  • Create panel layout and wiring designs
  • Develop bill of materials based on design criteria
  • Conduct quality control checks on wiring designs
  • Provide complete project lifecycle support from scoping to implementation
  • Offer construction support
  • Apply NESC minimum requirements to design processes
  • Implement client standards in designs
  • Collaborate with designers/drafters to produce required drawings
