Substation Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Position Overview

Join our PowerDelivery team as a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry. Focus on design engineering and reviews for substation projects, including steel/concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Review substation structures, rigid bus, foundations, oil spill containment, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls to support bid/construction packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and perform detailed design reviews
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Conduct site visits and travel for client meetings
  • Maintain compliance with quality, safety, scope, schedule, and budget
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary design teams

Required Qualifications

  • PE License in CA, WA, OR (or obtainable within 3-12 months); SE preferred
  • Proficiency in MATHCAD, RISA 3-D, FAD, SAG10, LPILE, AutoCAD, MicroStation
  • Microsoft Office suite expertise
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills

Location & Work Style

Based in Portland, OR; remote considered for western US (Pacific/Mountain time preferred). Occasional travel required.
