Join Leidos' Defense Systems Team as a 2nd Shift Surface Mount Technician

We're seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Surface Mount Assembly Technician in Huntsville, AL, to operate SMT equipment producing high-reliability Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for mission-critical applications in land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace.
Primary Responsibilities
- Demonstrate working knowledge of SMT machines: Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven, AOI, X-ray, and hand soldering.
- Handle electronics packages including 0402, 0603, BGAs, processing them efficiently on SMT lines.
- Perform precise hand soldering of SMT and Through-hole parts under microscope.
- Work independently under limited supervision to meet day-to-day objectives with high impact.
- Thrive in team environments, collaborating with functions, project, and production teams.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 2-4+ years of relevant experience (multiple levels available based on expertise).
- Proven Surface Mount Technology or electronics assembly background.
- Strong understanding of SMT processes for PCBA production.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must qualify for and maintain Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC-A-610 certification.
- J-STD-001 certification.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment and advanced hand soldering.
