Leidos Defense Sector seeks a skilled Sustaining Engineer for the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 (IFPC Inc2) Program—a cutting-edge ground-based mobile defense system neutralizing cruise missiles and UAS. Provide on-site/home technical support to diagnose field issues, ensure system readiness, and drive upgrades/retrofits. Ideal for hands-on engineers with proven problem-solving in operational environments and fielded systems support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot fielded systems, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, optimize performance.
- Act as technical POC for sustainment across sites, depots, users.
- Develop technical data packages, maintenance procedures, sustainment docs.
- Recommend design improvements, component updates, obsolescence strategies.
- Support FRACAS, manage baselines, coordinate updates/retrofits.
- Author engineering change proposals, discrepancy reports, risk assessments.
- Collaborate with logistics/supply chain on spares, repairs, planning.
- Develop cost-balanced sustainment strategies; integrate feedback into production.
- Interface with stakeholders, support fielding, training, assessments.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in relevant engineering field (ABET-accredited) +4-8 yrs or MS +2-6 yrs.
- Weapons systems lifecycle knowledge; team communication incl. design reviews.
- Sustainment/logistics/field support experience; troubleshooting integrated systems.
- Config mgmt, defect tracking, FRACAS; interpret drawings/schematics/manuals.
- Depot repair/retrofit experience; Army systems (launchers/sensors/missiles).
- Secret clearance eligible; Huntsville/North AL resident or relocatable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Logistics deliverables (manuals, procedures, bulletins); reliability analyses.
- Lean/Six Sigma; direct user interactions; DOORS; DoD acquisition processes.
- DoD program support experience.
Pay Range: $87,100 - $157,450. Leidos outthinks, outbuilds, outpaces—join disruptors driving mission success. Original posting Dec 1, 2025; open at least 3 days.

- Resident of or willing to relocate to Huntsville/North Alabama (experience)
