Job Description

Transform Maritime Missions as a System Administrator at Leidos

Leidos is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support autonomous maritime projects’ hardware stacks by managing and maintaining Linux-based systems in our on-premises system integration lab (SIL) in Arlington, VA. Join a proven team delivering excellence for customers, focusing on software and supporting hardware integration with sensors across multiple vessels. This on-site role requires working with little supervision on system configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security for Linux servers/workstations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure reliability, security, and efficiency of servers, networks, and SIL environments.
  • Monitor systems, tune performance, and troubleshoot for high availability.
  • Manage patches, upgrades, and DoD-compliant security hardening.
  • Handle backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
  • Configure network services: routing, firewalls, DNS, VLANs.
  • Manage access, user accounts, and security configurations.
  • Support software deployments and team integrations.
  • Maintain documentation for operating procedures.
  • Lead incident response for performance/security issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizen with active SECRET clearance.
  • 4+ years relevant experience (or Masters + 2-6 years); Bachelor’s in CS/IT/Network Engineering.
  • Expertise in system security, patching, performance tuning.
  • Proficient in Bash/Python scripting, Ansible, virtualization (Docker/Kubernetes/VMware/KVM).
  • Server setup/hardware upgrade skills; strong communication/problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Linux certs (RHCSA/RHCE/CompTIA Linux+).
  • Monitoring tools (Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus); RHEL 8/9/10; Dell Servers.

After-hours support may apply. Pay Range: $73,450-$132,775 USD. Leidos outthinks, outbuilds, outpaces—join disruptors refusing to fail.
