System Administrator - Linux Opportunity at Leidos

Leidos is seeking a skilled System Administrator - Linux to join our National Security Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area in Annapolis Junction, MD. Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor systems, applications, and processes; track and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide Tier 1 support via Help Desk, escalating as needed with follow-ups.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Use enterprise tools to address alarms and proactively notify customers of delays.
  • Execute IAVA management, security scans, and remediation per System Security Plans.
  • Support cross-team projects for IT enhancements and system optimization.
  • Maintain documentation, communicate outages, and foster inter-departmental relations.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in technical field + 8 years experience (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years hands-on IT customer service.
  • 3+ years with complex systems (Linux, networks, VMware).
  • Expertise in Linux OS install/upgrade, file systems, STIGs, networking, AD integration, permissions, troubleshooting.
  • Experience in system optimization, Data Center config, IAVA/CVE handling, and documentation.
  • Strong analytics, attention to detail, commitment to best practices.
