Job Description

Join Leidos as a Systems Administrator in Eagan, MN

Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure and Lab Engineering team supporting Transportation Solutions customers. This critical role involves maintaining and sustaining software development and test labs, acting as a liaison between engineering teams, and implementing innovative solutions using current and emerging technologies. This position requires reliable on-site presence in our Eagan, MN office to support program development and test labs comprised of diverse computing equipment. Occasional on-call support may be required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently administer Linux and Windows systems in development and test lab environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex OS, virtualization, storage, and application issues.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
  • Provision and maintain servers, VMs, storage, and lab infrastructure.
  • Perform backups, restores, and resolve failures.
  • Administer authentication, privileged access, and file systems per security policies.
  • Coordinate with network and security teams for lab connectivity.
  • Support software releases, installations, and environment refreshes.
  • Implement automation and process improvements for recurring issues.
  • Maintain system documentation and baselines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related + 5+ years experience (or 9+ years without degree).
  • Strong Linux administration; Windows Server preferred.
  • VMware vSphere/vCenter hands-on experience.
  • Backup, storage, and recovery expertise.
  • Networking and secure access knowledge.
  • IPA/LDAP management experience.
  • Independent decision-making, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Complex dev/test lab support.
  • Scripting/automation (Ansible, Bash, Python).
  • AWS EC2/EBS administration.
  • CI/CD tooling support.
  • Security hardening and vulnerability remediation.

Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for Public Trust clearance. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo. Pay Range: $73,450 - $132,775 USD annually.
