Leidos seeks a skilled Systems Engineer specializing in Adaptation Engineering for the Federal Aviation Administration's Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. This role is pivotal in modernizing air traffic management systems, enhancing efficiency in the National Airspace System (NAS). TFDM delivers NextGen capabilities for surface and terminal airspace operations across 89 U.S. airports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate adaptation solutions with cross-functional teams for TFDM compatibility.
  • Analyze requirements and develop strategies meeting operational demands.
  • Manage configurations, ensuring accurate documentation and implementation.
  • Perform rigorous testing and validation to uphold standards and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve adaptation-related issues swiftly.
  • Document processes, configurations, and changes comprehensively.
  • Innovate for continuous system performance improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years in systems engineering, focused on air traffic adaptation.
  • Expertise in integration, configuration, and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TFDM or similar ATM systems experience.

  • Familiarity with ATC standards and regulations.

Location & Travel

Hybrid in Gaithersburg, MD (3 days office, 2 remote). 50% travel to deployment airports, typically 1-2 weeks monthly.
