Leidos Defense Systems Land Systems seeks a talented Systems Engineer to drive missile defense innovation within the BMD Simulations and Analysis Portfolio. Make a real impact on national security by developing modeling & simulation (M&S), algorithms, and performance metrics for cutting-edge projects. Collaborate with MDA, associate contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop M&S, algorithms, and performance metrics for missile defense systems.
  • Evaluate algorithm and system performance, providing actionable feedback to development teams.
  • Coordinate with contractors, report status in meetings, and ensure requirements alignment.
  • Define functional/non-functional requirements and develop high-level specifications.
  • Oversee software development to maintain architecture consistency and integration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (4-8 years experience) or Master’s (2-6 years) in relevant field.
  • C++ development, Python/Jupyter data analysis, GitLab/Git, RHEL experience.
  • Missile Defense domain knowledge, Active Secret clearance, North Alabama residency.
  • Excellent communication for presentations and stakeholder interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile/SAFe expertise, MDS M&S interfaces, RF/EO/IR sensors, 6-DOF analysis.
  • Real-time programming, multi-core/threading, TCP/IP, Core Truth Model.
