Systems Engineer – Shape National Security at Leidos

Join Leidos at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, supporting the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Special Access Program Central Office (SAPCO). As a Systems Engineer, you'll drive innovation in missile defense technologies, protecting critical program information (CPI) while advancing U.S. defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead taskforce efforts to evaluate and integrate technologies, ensuring CPI protection through analytical studies and uniform classification standards.
  • Assess security needs for missile defense systems (sensors, interceptors, weapon systems, communications) and develop integrated test architectures.
  • Conduct formal risk assessments, implement risk management strategies, and oversee security in multi-level environments.
  • Guide engineering teams in reviews of program requirements, specifications, test plans, and strategies for development, testing, and fielding.
  • Craft Program Protection Plans, Security Classification Guides, and tailored security actions for high-stakes timelines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Missile Defense experience (sensors, interceptors, C2BMC, FMS, LO/CLO).
  • Exceptional technical writing, verbal communication, and briefing skills for senior leaders.
  • Proven Action Officer experience with strong coordination and deadline management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD special programs and SAP policy experience.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong memory for program details, classifications, and roles.
